DSL's been down since yesterday, after working fine since April. Covad is saying that the line length is 21k feet, and is too far away to be feasible.
Speakeasy's sending me a new modem, on the off chance that the modem's the problem. Speakeasy is overnighting it, so I might get it tomorrow, Thursday at the latest. They're also saying the soonest Covad wants to send out a tech is the 26th.
For the time being, I have no email or net access at home.
People with accounts on titan and vortex: I'm working on a contingency plan in the event Covad/Verizon refuse to fix my DSL, but there's not going to be anything actually happening there for a few days, unless the new modem fixes things. Sorry. :(

Broadband net access just plain sucks unless you're living on top of a CO, or money is no object.

Not so if they decide to provision your line from the adjacent county. heheh. Honestly though it's kinda nice not having email access since it gives me some escapism from all the pressures that email causes. That and I've got more than enough emails coming into my Otakon account at the moment.

How's it going?
Get yourself up and running there, boss?I can't wait for them to run fiber lines through our area. I hear 15 MB down, 2 MB up. Not too shabby ;-).
